Cobra Kai was renewed for a fifth season in August 2021, just a few months before the fourth season premiere. Producer Josh Heald of Cobra Kai has indicated that Season 5 will not be the series’ final episode and that more seasons will come in the future.

Cobra Kai is composed and executive created by Josh Heald, Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg through their manufacturing company, Counterbalance Enjoyment. Will Smith, James Lassiter and Caleeb Pinkett executive generate for Overbrook Home entertainment in addition to Susan Ekins in association with Sony Picture Television. Ralph Macchio and William Zabka serve as co-executive producers.
