Robert Pattison will return as caped crusader along with Director Matt Reeves. Warner Bros. revealed the major announcement at CinemaCon 2022, revealing that Matt Reeves will return as director and writer for the Batman sequel. Following the first film’s success, which became the highest-grossing film of the year at the US box office.
During the ComicCon event, Matt revealed that he is
“excited to jump back into this world, but more on that at a future CinemaCon.”
He also added (via Deadline), “Thank you all for your tremendous support for The Batman. We couldn’t have gotten here without the faith and enthusiasm of all your teams around the world.
A sequel is unsurprising, given that The Batman has grossed over $750 million globally and has already outperformed streaming estimates for Warner Bros.’ HBO Max service in the United States in the last week.
The movie is presently the highest-grossing film of 2022. It’s now available to stream on HBO Max, and it’s already attracted 4.1 million views in its first week.
It has surpassed the viewership records of other major DC films on the platform, including The Suicide Squad, Justice League, and Wonder Woman 1984.
