Cobra Kai creator talks about the show’s endgame that goes beyond Season 5

Netflix recently renewed Cobra Kai for 5th Season. Even though season 4 is due to arrive on Netflix globally in December 2021. The show’s co-creator Jon Hurwitz says that they won’t be stopping anytime soon.

According to the string of Tweets from Hurwitz, he said “We are very deep into our Season five planning. Several scripts and outlines have been written. And we are definitely writing towards an endgame, which will hopefully be beyond Season five.” He added in a later tweet: “We have lots and lots of plans, both inside and outside of the Miyagiverse.”

Is Jon Hurwitz hitting towards – Cobra Kai spinoffs? It could be the case because recently, Hurwitz signed a three-year overall deal for four more years with Sony Picture TV.

According to the latest deal, Jon Hurwitz, along with Head of Development Dina Hillier. They will explore the Karate Kid universe and Cobra Kai, expanding with spinoffs and other offshoots similar to Breaking Bad, Better Call Saul, and the sequel movie El Camino or Narcos. 

“Jon, Hayden and Josh are among the most imaginative and ingenious writers and producers in the business,” said Jeff Frost, President of Sony Pictures Television. 

Sony Pictures Television believes that if anybody can do justice with the Cobra Kai show, it would only be Jon, Hayden, and Josh who are best in their work. As much I have seen Cobra Kai, they have done a phenomenal job with the Cobra Kai story and their characters. 

Cobra Kai Season 5 is currently in production. ProductionWeekly had included Cobra Kai season 5 in its recent issue 1265. It states that production got the week underway starting September 20th, 2021, in Atlanta, Georgia

ProductionWeekly goes one step ahead in listing the current end date for Season 5 filming scheduled for December 10th, 2021. That’s faster than the Bullet Train, and it tells that Jon Hurwitz has prepared everything and has complete faith in it. Hurwitz might be currently busy writing the endgame for Cobra Kai. 

Cobra Kai is currently scheduled to arrive at some point in December 2021. An exact release date is expected to reveal tomorrow at Netflix’s TUDUM event.
